Yaman Tunaoglu is co-founder of KAREL, the market leading Telecommunications & Technology Platform company of Turkiye. Following the foundation of KAREL in 1986, Yaman Tunaoglu led the R&D activities for 36 years as Head of R&D and Chief Technology Officer. All the telecommunications products that KAREL produces currently was designed under his leadership during this period. From 1993 to 2005 he took active role in developing and managing EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) activities, which currently is one of the main leading operations of KAREL. Between 2005 and 2009, during a reorganisation period, he led the International Sales Team. In 2010 he left Head of R&D title and in parallel to Chief Technology Officer role he took active role in Business Development of Defense Industry Solutions. In this respect he led the foundation of Defense Industry Solutions Division, and related R&D teams.

In 2022, following Doğan Holding’s acquisition of KAREL’s control shares, he is appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Company and Vice Chairman of the Board. Yaman Tunaoglu is also Chairman of TESİD, leading “Electronics Industry” Civil Society Organization of Turkey. Yaman Tunaoglu holds a B.Sc in EE degree from the Bhosphorus University in Istanbul, Turkey; and a M.Sc in EE degree from the Michigan Techonological University in Michigan, USA.
